The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) will be in the village this September to conduct mandatory reinspections.
Who Does This Apply To?
This reinspection applies only to residents who fall into either of these categories:
• You received notice during the initial inspection.
• You were not available to grant inspectors access to your unit during the first visit.
What You Need to Do
• Ensure access: You must grant the inspectors entry to your unit on your scheduled date and make any necessary repairs to items that fall under resident responsibility – securing handrails & fixing walkways that are not part of the original dwelling.
A total of 11 days will be given for inspections, with the 11th day acting as an extra day to ensure everyone has enough time. Inspections will begin each day between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
Reinspection checklist:
- Sidewalks – Must be clear of any objects and no hazardous cracks.
- Grills – Must be at least 5ft from the side of the house.
- Handrails – Must be secure.
- Smoke Alarms / Carbon Monoxide Detectors – Must be a Smoke/CO combo with an enclosed 10yr lithium battery (Maintenance will replace if needed)
Scheduled Dates:
- Sept 8, 9 & 10
- Sept 14, 15, 16 & 17
- Sept 22, 23 & 24
- Sept 25 (Extra day)
Notice will be given to specific residents that this effects. If you do not hear from the office your unit passed during the initial inspections.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community compliant and safe.
