If you mail letters, invoices, or marketing postcards in the Garden State, take note. The USPS is raising postage rates nationwide this Sunday, July 12, 2026.
The rate adjustments represent an overall 4.8% to 5% increase across standard mailing services. The federal government approved these changes to offset rising operational costs and financial shortfalls.
📈 Key Rate Changes Effective July 12:
• First-Class Forever Stamps: Increasing 4 cents, moving from 78¢ to 82¢.
• Metered 1-Ounce Letters: Moving from 74¢ to 78¢.
• Domestic Postcards: Moving from 61¢ to 65¢.
• International Letters & Postcards: Moving from $1.70 to $1.75.
💡 Pro-Tip for NJ Residents & Businesses:
Beat the hike by stocking up on First-Class Forever Stamps at your local post office or online via USPS.com before Sunday. Forever stamps purchased now will remain valid for 1-ounce letters indefinitely, saving you money on future mailings.
